Thank you for your interest in joining the Thibodaux Service League! Our purpose is educational and charitable and is to promote voluntarism, to develop the potentials of our members for voluntary participation in community affairs, and to demonstrate the effectiveness of trained volunteers.
For over 40 years, the women of the Thibodaux Service League have been committed to improving Thibodaux and the surrounding communities of South Louisiana through service and voluntarism. Each Spring a group of women is invited to become Provisional members. This membership consists of an orientation session beginning in late Spring/early Summer and continues for one full year. Criteria for this membership includes voluntarism, commitment to community service, and attending regular informational monthly meetings.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Must currently live in the Thibodaux area (Raceland, Schriever, Chackbay, Vacherie, Napoleonville, Labadieville, etc.) and must reside in the Thibodaux area by August 1st of the year in which she will begin her provisional orientation.
- Must complete the provisional membership orientation held in late Spring/early Summer and volunteer a minimum of 25 hours of service satisfactory to the placement committee within one year of her election to provisional membership and effective August 1st.
Thibodaux Service League will contact each applicant to let them know they have met the requirements of eligibility for membership. At this time, we do have a limit on how many members our league can accommodate. This number is based on how many applications we receive in conjunction with how many active members who transfer to a sustaining membership. This number will vary from year to year. If we are not able to accept your application for the current year, you will be notified and strongly encouraged to apply again for the following year.
